One of the places I left my ♥ in SF was at the Kabuki Theater - a Sundance cinema all beautifully eco-built with organic movie snacks and (this is the clincher) a balcony bar. Viewing say, Sex and the City, with with a Cosmo in hand, changes your expectations of the movie theater experience. Also, I discovered one can get their boyfriend to sit through the almost 3-hr Austrailia if he has a beer in hand.
Sunday we found that watching the Superbowl while drinking local micro-brew beer (Andrew's!), munching great movie theater popcorn and Swedish fish, cheering with the crowd, ends up changing your expectations of football watching as well.
