sweatshop of one - slow goings
The L'stell Spring 08 collection has yet to appear at the racks of Bluebird, because it turns out, designing and sewing your first line somehow takes forever. And ever. How did I get costumes AND a 12-piece runway collection done at school in a semester? What kind of schedule was I following? We had a running theory in the Theater Dept. that the secret to hyper-productivity seemed to be "The Jean Randich Day" - one directing professor's ability to do a million things started with accomplishing quite a bit between the hours of 7am and 10am. Seeing how I barely manage to drink my morning cup of Lady Gray Tea before 10am, looks like I need a JR jump-start.
The fact that I can watch old Dancing with the Stars episodes online while at the sewing machine, however, is making me incredibly productive. And cheering for Kristi Yamaguchi, (who is kicking everyone's butts), is making me feel like I'm 10-years-old again.
